Iranian producer presiding over BWFF jury

Iranian producer Elaheh Nobakht is serving as a jury president for the 6th edition of Beirut International Women Film Festival (BWFF) in Lebanon.

Nobakht is appointed the president of the short documentary and animation films jury of the event.

She is the CEO of ELI Image, a film production and distribution company. She previously served as a juror at various international film festivals, including the Religion Today Film Festival in Italy.

This year, several Iranian films are also taking part in the Beirut International Women Film Festival, which kicked off on Sunday and will run until March 10.

BWFF was founded in 2017 “under the theme ‘Women for Leadership’, highlighting the role of women as leaders in their societies”, the festival’s website reads.

According to the event’s website, shedding the light on the success stories of women in cinema, and empowering them are among the festival’s objectives.
